Travel back in time to more than 1200 years to the remotest island in the world.
Imagine how the first people would have travelled thousands of miles on rough seas to reach  this  remote and mysterious island.
It is as mysterious as it was 1200 years ago to the Raupini people as it was to the Dutch explorer who discovered the island in 1722 and to us the super humans of 21st century.
The island that was discovered on Easter Sunday.
Hundreds of  gigantic monumental statues took the Dutch explorers breath away as it did to the hundreds of thousands visiting the island.
As for me, just seeing the pictures and the videos left me in awe and I'm dumbfounded.
I cannot stop wondering about those gigantic statues. I wonder, why were they carved? How did they carve? How did they build? What kind of tools did they use?  How did they lift ? How did they move?  What does the statues signify?
Who were the first people to inhabit this remote island? From where did they come? What did they do for a living? How did they thrive?  What was their culture?
Perhaps, these were questions the early explorers asked and wandered . 290 years after the island's discovery, how much do we know?
