I'm done eating lobsters and clam chowders, I'm looking for new and exotic flavors in seafood. It's time to move on from the delicious calamari rings and shrimp pop-corn to something very exotic and exciting.  Heard of whelks ?
Whelks are  predcious and necrophagous sea  snails, they are mollusks. They are found in many continents of the world. A small percentage of Americans and Europeans enjoy them as a delicacy. The Japanese love them in their sushi and sashimi.
Whelks can be  used in soups, salads, chowders, sushies, sashimies, stirfries ...
Whether boiled, steamed, fried or raw they are said to be delicious.
I'll give you my take after I have tried them.
