Broccoli Romanesco

http://www.denverpost.com

I'm always in awe of the marvels of nature. Well, I'm not stating it lightly.  Even a blade of grass that grows on a pile of dirt fascinates me , I'm dumbfounded by this edible vegetable that looks like broccoli and tastes like cauliflower.
Look at the complicated  patterns. Look at the color.  Who is nature trying to please?  I think it's competing with itself.
The Broccoli Romanesco  loaded with vitamins C and K and  carotenoids and dietary fiber  has been around for a long time - since  the 16th Century!
How can vegetables ever  be boring?
The Roman Cauliflower  rocks.
