Giant's Causeway

Anything that makes you stop and stare could either be awful or awesome. Well, we are  all about AWE. This natural wonder that captivates the hearts and minds of many was formed some 60 million years ago. It is located in Antrim  in Northern Ireland.
The causeway is said to have formed when intense volcanic activity was  molding  and reshaping Antrim 60 million years ago. The molten lava made mostly of basalt dried up or cooled down to these beautiful pillar-like structures that one would see at the Giant's Causeway. While most of these columns are hexagonal, there are some columns that have  4, 5, or 8  sides. The tallest column is 39 ft. high.

Some  of the other formations are popular with names  like the Chimney Stacks, The Harp, The Organ, The Giant's Eye, The Sheppard's Step, The Honey Comb  and the Camel's Hump.
